(More customer reviews)I'm a soccer coach and still play pickup games; I purchased this a year ago primarily to help my son (who's on the small side) develop his kick power. When using it every week or so, we saw some improvement. However, his kick power and consistency improved dramatically after he started working with it daily this summer. I guess there's no motivation like self-motivation. He uses it for straight shots, touch-and-kicks, up-close volleys, running half-volleys, quick turnaround kicks, crossing kicks (that is, my cross-pass, his kick). Most recently he's focused on his non-dominant left leg. In ten minutes he can get the same number of touches he'd get in a 90-minute practice.
He's had good speed and ball skills all along. With his improved kick, now he's dominating the U12 midfield.
One mental trick that's helped: instead of treating the kickback as a goal, he usually focuses on a fence a ways behind it. That way each kick becomes more powerful with reduced chance of sending the ball soaring over it.
